The ability to show or hide containers to certain user groups - based on a condition or a set of conditions - is a powerful new feature in Accedo One, enabling you to tailor content to specific user segments.

This feature offers several key benefits for both you and your users:

  • Increased engagement: By delivering content to relevant audiences, you can significantly boost user interaction and interest.
  • Personalized user experience: Tailoring content to individual preferences creates a more customized and satisfying experience for your users.
  • Optimized content delivery: Ensures that the right content reaches the right users, enhancing relevance and reducing content overload.

With conditional containers, you can maximize the impact of your offerings and create a more effective and engaging UX.

How does this feature work?

In essence, you can configure visibility conditions for containers for the following user segments:

Account and entitlement conditions

  • All Users
  • Anonymous Users (logged out)
  • Authenticated Users (logged in but without an active subscription)
  • Entitled Users (users with access rights to watch content)

Platform conditions

You can choose to show a container only to users who are using a specific device (e.g. Apple TV, Web, Android Mobile).

If you have purchased the Manual Personalisation feature, you can also make selections based on the set user preferences (e.g. show a container to all users who selected a certain favorite team or category and are on an Android device).

How to configure this feature

To get started, reach out to your Customer Success Manager to activate this feature on your account.

Once it's activated, you'll find a new menu item called "Conditionals" in your Configuration screen. You will be able to create sets of rules as outlined above.

In Editor, you will be able to set visibility conditions on each container, allowing you to pick from any of the rules you have created.

If a container has visibility conditions applied to it, you are able to easily see this in your preview.

Targeting containers to different audiences will give your apps a more dynamic and personalized feel, ensuring that the right content reaches the right users!
