Simplifying TV login with Second Screen Authentication

While watching videos on a TV app offers many user advantages, logging in with a TV remote is often cumbersome due to endless scrolling between letters and numbers on the sign-in screen.

Accedo One simplifies this process with Second Screen Login, allowing users to log in via the web and pair their session with the TV. This feature streamlines the login experience, saving time and reducing frustration.

How this works 

When the feature is enabled in the Accedo One configuration tools, users attempting to log in on a TV platform will see a prompt directing them to visit a specific webpage URL and enter a numerical code.

Upon accessing the provided webpage URL and logging into their service, the user is prompted to enter the code displayed on their TV into a text field to connect the devices.

When the code is matched, the user is successfully logged into their TV app!

How to configure this feature

To use this feature, you need an Accedo One-powered web app. If you don't have one and want to add this platform to your portfolio, speak to your Customer Success Manager!

In your Accedo One Configuration tool, navigate to Configuration > Features > Second Screen Login.

Enter a Display URL, which will be shown on the TV login page. Typically, this will be the base URL for your service followed by “/tv”.

You can also upload a background image for the web page to enhance the user interface.

Once you have completed your configurations, you can activate the feature.
