Most of our customers will already be aware of Accedo One’s homepage for unauthenticated users: a welcome page guiding the customer to either log in or sign up for the service.

While this feature on Web has always provided ample opportunity to showcase the value of the service upfront, the experience on TV platforms was somewhat limited.

This is why we have now added the option to add multiple, auto-rotating background images to the Unauthenticated Homepage for TV, giving a service using the feature these benefits:

  1. Promote Content: Highlight a range of shows and movies from the catalog, enticing potential subscribers with the variety of available content.
  2. Increase User Engagement: Create a visually dynamic and engaging homepage experience that captures users' attention and encourages exploration.
  3. Enhance User Experience: Provide a more immersive and visually appealing experience, potentially leading to higher conversion rates from unauthenticated to authenticated users.
How to set up the auto-rotating slider

Customers have the flexibility to configure the Unauthenticated Homepage in one of two ways:

  • Option 1: Use a single static background image (as currently supported).
  • Option 2: Enable the auto-rotating slider, which cycles through multiple background images.

In Content Manager > My Collections, create a collection consisting of promotional image items, including an image, title, and description.

Step 1: Create a collection.

Once your collection has been set up, go to Configuration > Design > Brand > Background Images, and select your new collection in the module “Unauthenticated Homepage”.

Step 2: Add the collection in menu "Background Images".

How does the auto-rotating slider display on a TV?

When the auto-rotating slider is enabled, the TV client app will automatically slide through the images from the collection configured in Admin.

The slider is purely visual: users cannot click, swipe, or manually navigate through the images. The main focus for the user is on the desired action, supported by the promoted content in the slider: logging in or signing up.
