As every streaming app user will know, finding and bookmarking content you want to watch can take a surprising amount of time: scrolling through categories, containers, and curated lists. While discovery can be enjoyable, capturing a user’s attention quickly is key - and personalized recommendations are the perfect solution.

Personalized video recommendations help users find content they enjoy much faster. Every user feels catered to, turning a vast content library into an individual experience. For the service provider, an engaging user experience leads to higher engagement and increased user loyalty. 

What kind of recommendations are supported? 

We support two types of recommendation engines: 

  • Jump Personalizer: This engine delivers personalized recommendations tailored to individual users by analyzing their viewing data. It helps each viewer discover content aligned with their unique preferences.
  • OVP Recommendations: This engine provides a standard, non-personalized content feed, based on recommendations from your video service provider. 

What is Jump Personalizer? 

Our provider Jump Personalizer (link to Jump Personalizer webpage) uses Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence technology to tailor users’ experience based on their consumption habits.

When the Jump Personalizer pre-integration is enabled, Accedo One securely transmits encrypted personalized user data to the Jump platform. This data includes key insights such as device details, user identifiers, and viewing habits enriched by factors like content types and predefined categories.

Within the Jump environment, this data is processed to generate:

  • Personalized Content Recommendations: Contextual suggestions based on user activity, all considering the user’s recent consumption, tastes and preferences. 
  • Performance Metrics Tracking: Key analytics on the success of personalized content to evaluate recommendation effectiveness.

These recommendations can then be surfaced in various containers across the Accedo One apps. 


Where are personalized recommendations displayed? 

We show recommendations in various containers across your service: 

  • “Up Next” screen showing personalized related content on finishing a video.
  • The Video Details Page shows a “Recommendations” module below the main metadata.
  • You can include a “Recommendations” container on any browse page you choose.

Jump Personalizer is a premium feature. 

Are there any other personalization features in Accedo One?  

Yes! With our "Manual Personalization" feature, you can allow users to choose their preferences from a curated list of options that you define. Based on their selections, you can tailor the content experience by displaying specific content relevant only to those preferences.
